ZeptoMail Just Grew Up Into Zoho CPaaS - Here's What Actually Changes

If you've used Zoho for transactional email - OTPs, order confirmations, shipping updates, password resets - you've almost certainly touched ZeptoMail without thinking twice about it. It's been the quiet workhorse behind those messages for years.
That workhorse just got a lot more capable. Zoho has rebuilt ZeptoMail into Zoho CPaaS - a full communication platform covering Email, SMS, WhatsApp, and Voice, not just email anymore.

First, the important part: nothing breaks
If you're already on ZeptoMail, this isn't a migration you need to plan for. Your SMTP setup, API keys, and Agents carry over exactly as they are. The email channel behaves the same way it always has - Zoho has simply built three more channels around it, using the same underlying discipline they'd already put into email: sender reputation handling, suppression list management, bounce handling, and proper SPF/DKIM/DMARC authentication. That groundwork is now shared across every channel, not just email. It's the same rigor we help clients apply when we set up Zoho Mail for day-one-reliable business email.

One console, four channels, each built for its own medium
Rather than forcing every channel through one generic API, each one is purpose-built:
Email - everything ZeptoMail already did well: high-deliverability transactional sending, SMTP relay, dedicated IPs, and Agent-based message segmentation, now folded into the bigger platform.
SMS - built for OTPs and time-sensitive alerts, with DLT compliance handled (a mandatory, region-specific requirement), plus template management, delivery tracking, and sender ID setup.
WhatsApp - sends through the official WhatsApp Business API, so you can reach customers with order updates, reminders, and verification messages on a channel they already check. Template approvals, media messages, and delivery tracking are built in.
Voice - for the moments a text isn't enough: OTPs, urgent alerts, verification, callback flows - programmable outbound calls with status tracking and customizable audio.
Everything sits under one console, one analytics view, one compliance layer, and one credit-based pricing model across all four channels.

Why this matters more than it might look
A couple of things stand out to us here:
First, the pricing and infrastructure being unified is the real win, not the extra channels by themselves. Most businesses end up stitching together separate vendors for SMS, WhatsApp, and voice, each with its own compliance headaches and its own deliverability quirks to manage. Having all four under one roof, with one bill and one dashboard, removes a lot of operational overhead most teams don't even realize they're carrying.
Second, the compliance layer underneath each channel - DLT rules for SMS, WhatsApp's approval workflows, authentication standards for email - is exactly the kind of thing that's easy to underestimate and expensive to get wrong. Getting this set up properly, not just switched on, is where the actual value shows up. That's the gap our Zoho consulting work usually closes - making sure a new tool is actually configured around how your business communicates, not just turned on.

Getting started
If you're already a ZeptoMail user, nothing changes on your end - log into your existing account and the new channels are there whenever you want to explore them. Your credentials, configuration, and billing stay exactly as they are; only the product name is updating in the console and docs over the coming weeks.
If you haven't used it before, you can sign up for Zoho CPaaS directly and start with whichever channel fits what you need first. Full documentation for all four channels is available in Zoho's developer docs.
